Latest Country Reports - Indonesia and United Arab Emirates

Indonesia - May 2010

The economy has proved far more resilient to the global downturn than expected. In 2011 GDP growth is expected to increase to 5.9% after a 5.6% growth rate this year, due to a further improvement in investment. Indonesia will keep its good solvency, comfortable liquidity and positive current account in 2010 and 2011. In order to secure long-term growth, more FDI is needed due to shortage of domestic capital.

United Arab Emirates - May 2010

In 2010 nearly all macroeconomic indicators will improve; real GDP is forecast to grow by 2.5%, thanks to a return to previous levels of oil output and large projects coming on-stream, and this will support all components of demand. Although it is expected that Dubai World´s bank creditors will accept the debt restructuring proposal made by the government, negotiations are still ongoing as crucial details still have to be determined.
